Exhibition Policy
Our aim is to promote and sell original and affordable contemporary visual art, jewellery and crafts to as wide an audience as possible. The selection of works is ideal for birthdays, gifts, weddings or special occasions as well as simply to browse and enjoy.
We have a commitment to support new work and thus emphasis on showing and selling new and emerging artists. Priority will be given to the work of artists living and working in Slough, then Berkshire and then the rest of the region.
Aims of the exhibition space are:
- Raise the profile and promote the excellence of visual arts in Slough and Berkshire through a changing programme of exhibitions.
- Showcase the work of artists from Slough and Berkshire
- Provide opportunities for people to explore and experience contemporary visual arts and crafts
- Exhibit and sell affordable contemporary fine art and craft (artworks cost no more than £500)
- Provide visitors with something new to inspire and excite
- Engage the wider community in contemporary visual arts and crafts
- Support artists through the sale of affordable art work
- Promote contemporary art and craft
- To complement the exhibitions programme the West Wing Arts Centre organises opportunities for people to meet artists involved, through artists talks, private views and visual art courses and workshops.
Guidelines for exhibiting:
- The programme is devised and confirmed by the West Wing Arts Centre curatorial selection panel up to one year in advance.
- Exhibitions are selected on the extent to which they complement the West Wing Arts Centre’s mission and exhibition policy.
