Get Up, Stand Up

Get Up, Stand Up was created in 2007 to promote Black talent in Slough and to mark the centenary of the abolition of slavery. Working in partnership with a local ambassador, the event sold out and featured over 25 amazing performers, including singers, a gospel choir, poets, rappers and dancers. The idea for the event came out of consultation carried out with various community groups across Slough.

A further event to showcase black talent will is being planned for 2009. So watch this space.
