Open Mic
Are you in a band, a poet, a singer, a musician, stand up, or MC - then we want to hear from you.
Come and perform at our relaxed and friendly Open Mic Nights.
Aims:
- Raise aspirations
- Create an inclusive environment
- Promote and showcase local and regional talent
- Provide a platform for artists to try out new work and reach their potential
Booking policy for performers:
- Performers need to book their slot in advance by either calling 01753 476651 or emailing westwing@slough.gov.uk leaving their full name, contact details and type of performance.
- Performers will be selected on a first come first serve basis and will perform in order of confirmation, so that the sooner an artist is confirmed the higher up the bill they will perform on the night.
- Slots must be confirmed no later than noon on the day of the Open Mic. We cannot accept additional acts on the night.
- Admission is free for performers. Any guests will need to buy their tickets from the box office.
- We will supply mics and a PA, should performers require any additional technical equipment then they need to inform us at the time of booking their slot. The West Wing Arts Centre cannot guarantee that it will be able to fulfil requests however they will endeavour to supply adequate equipment.
- Performances will last no longer than 15 minutes to ensure that as many people as possible can perform.
- Any children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult and they will be warned that there may be strong language.
- Due to the nature of the event, the West Wing cannot take responsibility for the content of any performance, and will not tolerate rude or disrespectful comments from performers, comperes or audience.
- We have the right to refuse admission.
Etiquette:
The West Wing Arts Centre hopes the Open Mic night will support and develop local artists. As a performer it would be great if you could arrive promptly for the start of the event and stay throughout to support other artists.
