Vision
The West Wing Arts Centre is Slough’s centre for creation and exploration in the arts: promoting a life time of engagement while raising aspirations, challenging and inspiring all.
So what does this actually mean?
This means that we will:
- Run a thriving, fully accessible and culturally diverse professional and community arts programme that will raise the profile and aspirations of Slough.
- Develop performing and participatory arts opportunities that enable people of all backgrounds and ages to experience art that is inspiring, engaging and relevant.
- Create an inclusive ‘arts laboratory’ environment and provide the tools which allow staff, artists and audience alike the opportunity to imagine, explore, collaborate and discover excellence.
- Develop the next generation of artists and arts leaders, through nurturing, showcasing and promoting talent.
- Develop an audience programme which enables individuals to engage with arts and culture from early childhood (or first engagement) and throughout their adult life.
- Aim to develop a more relevant, innovative and sustainable organisational structure which is supported by a greater scope of funders and which is more environmentally conscious.
Where next?
We at the West Wing Arts Centre believe that the centre has the potential to develop into an international ‘Cultural Village’ housing various arts and cultural organisations, providing a place for exchanging, sharing and discovering excellence.
